1. Ç÷°üÈ®ÀåÀº ¼úÈÄ 30ÀϱîÁö °üÂûµÇ¾ú°í, ³»¸·¼¼Æ÷¿Í ÆòÈ°±Ù¼¼Æ÷´Â 5ÀÏ°ºÎÅÍ Áõ½ÄµÇ±â

Cryogen kills living cells and cryosurgery has been introduced int he clinical field to
destroy tumors such as hemangioma or vascular lesion. And recently, vascular freezing
technique has been suggested as a new physical method of relief of the vasospasm.
Although it is an advanced technique in treating some tumors or malignancy and
potential modality in relieving the vasospasm, the detailed healing after vascular injury
of cryogen of artery and the healing after cryodamage, especially focussed on the
change and regeneration of endothelial cell and smooth muscle cell.
We sacrificed the experimental animals by 3 days, 5 days, 10 days, 20days, 30 days
and observed the sequential change that occur during regeneration of femoral artery
using a histologic, immunohistochemical and SEM study after the vascular freezing.
The results were as follow :
1. Vasodilation was observed by 30 days and endothelial cell and smooth muscle cell
was beginning to increase from 5th day. The arrangement of muscle cell was irregular
and the thickness of intima did not largely change. Infiltration of inflammatory cell into
media & adventitia increased on 5th day, and gradually decreased later.
2. In the view of SEM, the endothelial cell was destructed and falling off, and partly
regenerated at 3 days. On 10th day, the endothelial cell was moving into damaged area
and repairing it. On 30th day, the endothelial cell was fully covered the damaged area,
but having a irregular arrangement observed.
3. In control group, PCNA positive reaction was observed in endothelium, smooth
muscle cell and surrounding mesenchymal cell of artery. Smooth muscle cell and
perivascular vessels showed ¥á-SMA positive reaction, and endothelial cell of arterial
wall, smooth muscle cell and surrounding mesenchymal tissue of artery showed vimentin
positive reaction.
4. In the PCNA study, endothelial cell showed positively reaction on 10th day and
actively reacted on 20th day. Smooth muscle, perivascular mesenchymal cells were
beginning to react positively on 5th day, and almost histopahologically repaired on 20th
day.
5. In the ¥á-SMA histologic view, smooth muscle cell was beginning to react from
5th day, and almost repaired on 30th day. Perivascular arteries were reacting on 3rd day
and repaired on 20th day.
6. In Vimentin-reaction view, endothelial cells were beginning to react positively from
5th day and showing a similar reaction of control goup. Smooth muscle cell, perivascular
mesenchymal cells were showing a positive reaction from 5th day, and then reacting
more positively.
Based on these findings, intima of artery was repaired at 20 days, smooth muscle cell
between 10 and 20 days, perivascular mesenchymal cells were repaired within 20 days
after cryodamage.
